My Spirit

The other night I had a dreaming vision of my Spirit.

It is all of me. It was the same shape and size of me. My skin seemed to be a covering over it. It was sort of transparent and yet it has a slight glow to it. Sort of like the aliens in the movie Cocoon. But that was a secular movie and had nothing to do with the real existence of Spiritual beings. Even though – they sort of slipped on a skin covering over their real selves – glowing spirit like creatures.

It is me. You know that part of you that knows who you are. That part of you that is timeless and ageless. I feel now like I did when I was 17 and in High School. I can remember my mother saying this when she was near 90 years old.

Our spirit was made for eternity and that is too long to even think about. The song says “When we’ve been there 10,000 years…’” That is a long time also. In comparison to 10,000 my mere 65 years is just a title’s worth. No wonder I feel so young in my Spirit. It is the body that is growing old and soon to expire. Not my Spirit.

My Spirit is the part of me that goes either to Heaven or Hell when I die. I am going to Heaven by the way. No ifs ands or buts. I have already purchased my ticket through the Death, Burial, and resurrection of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I heard a Christian ex-martial arts preacher say the when they smashed their hand through a board or brick that it was the human spirit that did the breaking and not the physical hands. Pretty powerful stuff.

When combined with a true faith in Jesus Christ it is even more powerful. I have been transformed by my acceptance as Jesus as my Lord. The same Spirit that raised Him from the dead is within me.

Watch out Satan. I am a lean mean fighting machine. Jesus has already died for me and conquered Life, death, and even hell for me. I am victorious through the Blood of Jesus.
